About Heroes With Ability:

Heroes with Ability offer 10-week sports activity programs for people in Australia with physical &/or intellectual disabilities. These programs are delivered without charge to the participants.

 

It was formed in 2018 by co-founders Marco Quintao and George Tonna to inspire, teach, motivate, as well as incorporate all aspects of health & wellbeing, social inclusion, and community awareness. Heroes With Ability works with disability services providers, as well as partners in the sporting community. 

 

They also provide employment opportunities for people with disability and is registered as a Not-For-Profit organisation (ABN: 63640763962). 

 

Co-founder Marco Quintao:

Marco is a father of two and has been involved with disability for the last 20+ years through the birth of his son Marco junior. Marco junior has both a physical and intellectual disability.

Marco has been assisting with the running of International Disability Day community events and has organised fundraising annual golf charity events supporting people with disabilities.

His proudest achievement is being the role of being both, Ciena and Marco’s father. He has expressed many times he feels that he has been taught by the best teacher ever.

 

Co-founder George Tonna:

George used his own experience of cerebral palsy as a catalyst for positive action and creating opportunities for others living with disability.


He says he is lucky to a have disability ‘because it’s made me who I am today’. 

 

George represented Australia as Vice-Captain in soccer at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney. He set up Football with People with Cerebral Palsy in 1999 with the Australian Paralympic Committee.

Heroes With Ability has close working ties with many people in the National Rugby League (NRL) as well as the broader Australian and New Zealand sporting community.

These ambassadors participate in our sports activity events and help with fund-raising activities on behalf of Heroes With Ability.
