My sons recently participated in The Heroes with Ability Rugby League Clinic and it was fantastic, so inclusive and catered for each child’s abilities. I can not speak highly enough of the Hereos with Ability team they were so supportive and encouraging and most importantly made the experience fun. As a parent the smiles on not only my boys faces but all who were participating was truly heart warming.

Thank you Hereos with Ability and Souths Cares for such a wonderful experience and embracing inclusion.

The clinic was absolutely brilliant!! It gave Patric an opportunity to try a sport that he likes, something we weren’t able to offer Patric before hearing about the Heroes with Ability/ Souths Cares clinic. Unfortunately, there are very few options for sport for children with special needs. The set up of the clinic and the activities the kids did were great; what I would expect for a training session for a club team. Marco and George were very patient with Patric; not rushing him to get through it, but encouraging him to keep going. Even though Patric strayed a bit, he still gave everything a go, which for him is a HUGE deal. Watching Patric enjoying himself and completing drills with the other kids was a proud parent moment for us. I’m unashamed to say that I had tears watching him.

I’m quite amazed with this program as it’s so raw and inspiring. The team make each and every one so comfortable in participating in skills within their own ability. This program not only focuses on the skills of football but also focuses on skills such as coordination, communication, team work and leadership. The team at Merrylands high school are privileged to have heroes with abilities participating with our students to build their confidence and resilience. I have already been in contact with my teacher friends to get on board with this great initiative. This program is definitely something to keep within our school for a very long time. Heroes with ability will be stuck with Merrylands high school for good. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this amazing team. Keep up the great work guys!! The kids and staff think you are beyond amazing.

I could see the difference in what a few months of this wonderful sporting program can make.

Pauline was coming out of her shell, she made many friends and was supporting and encouraging everybody. She had the best day ever and I had never seen her so happy!

I was extremely emotional because I was so happy for her that she could now enjoy something that she had always loved and wanted.
